Are the rear sights replaceable on the ATI M1911 military model and is there a special type i need to use.

Get whatever rear sight you want on your gun, and take it to a gunsmith. A gunsmith will have to mill out a sight cut into the slide so the sights can install. The type of cut the gunsmith will do depends on what sight you get.
