Are S30V steel blades worth the extra cost?

I have a small but nice collection of pocket knives, Benchmade, SOG, etc. Recently got a Kershaw with an S30V steel blade, it cost about $35 more than the same model with other steel (forgot exactly which). In real world use (cutting boxes, whittling, etc) is the S30V worth the extra bucks....? Will it really hold the edge that much longer than, say, a AUS8?

It seems that it is worth the extra cost. It is harder and tougher than other stainless steels and has a finer grain structure. Advantages are easier grinding and sharpening but is a bit more expensive to produce than previous stainless steels.

I prefer S30V and VG10 for all of my blades.
