Rapid fire Marlin model 60

I just got invited to a compitition for rapid firing a .22lr I have a marlin model 60. Any tips or thing I can do to help my speed. And no you can't use pistols only semi auto rifles.

Clean it good and lube it good use new ammo. Mine works best with fairly new , once the lead turns gray it won't feed well at all

If modification to your Marlin is allowed, I dropped one of these in mine;

and it makes a huge difference all around...especially fast(er) fireing.

Never lost a rapid fire contest with my Marlin 60 yet.

I call it the "typewriter" . (300WPM)

Just run what ya brung. You'll bury those 10/22s and 15/22s.

NO, not at all.
What it does is stop trigger travel after the hammer strikes and you let off, and it's ready for the trigger "pull" if you will, again. It takes the rear trigger travel away as you can adjust it to suit you.

...thus, making it a faster fireing time.
I can "almost" make mine sound like a true auto and keep a group out to 20 yards on a 2 foot target. Not an amazeing feat, but fast and fun!
