I had a very close friend of mine get into a motorcycle accident yesterday,he is in a coma with critical injuries. any thoughts or prayers would be greatly appreciated. his name is Dave, and he needs all the help he can get! THANK YOU!!

Lord, I come before you this evening uplifting Dave.
He has been badly injured, Father, and he needs your healing touch.
I ask that you would have mercy upon him, and grant a healing and a full recovery to him.

Restore him, father, to the freedom of the open road -

We ask that you would be with his family and friends as well, and strengthen as they spend time just waiting, hoping and praying.

And I ask these things in the name of Jesus the Christ, our savior.

UPDATE: Dave woke up yesterday!! and had surgery to put a rod in his leg, he broke his femur. He is still in ICU so I can't see him, but he is on his way to recovery. With a little more help from the lord above I think he will be ok. I am so relieved that I will get to spend some more time with my best friend!!

I would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers,to help keep Dave around for a lot longer. THANK YOU

Just saw this request tonight and have offered prayers on behalf of Dave and his family. I experience something similar to this about a year and half ago when my brother hit a cow that weighed about 1200 lbs and it came through the windshield on him causing significant head and face injuries which took several hours of facial reconstructive surgery and involved putting a steel plate in his face. He spent a few weeks in critical condition in the trauma unit at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN but has now made a near 100% recovery. At the time of his accident I also went on forums that I was a member of requesting everyone pray for him. I know God can and will help in these types of situations if we pray and have faith in his healing power. Also glad to hear Dave is doing better and will hope and pray his condition continues to improve over the days and weeks ahead. Keep us posted on his progress!!

Great news Chevy! Since he probably won't be back on the bike soon, get him out to the range when he's feeling up to it and spend some time with him. I had a good friend ( also named Dave ) get in a nasty bike accident the day before Thanksgiving of '10. He spend 3 weeks in hospital and is still feeling the effects to this day. Every time we go fishing, I count my blessing that my friend is still here to bust my chops.

I too just saw this and send a heartfull of prayers to dave and threw afew in for you too, A good friend is hard to come by and you are one of those brother.keep us posted.

I will continue to pray for a complete and total recovery, with no complications from this in the future.

I am curious, though, about whether or not he plans to keep riding -
When I had my wreck a few years ago, it was due to my inability (due to advancing age) to kick that big hog back up again when it started to go down. At that point, I decided it was time to move to 4 wheels.

But I do miss it so - -

Except when it is raining, hailing, sleeting, snowing, or the road ahead is covered with smashed watermellons. And yeah, that happened in Florida a few years ago.
