new shotgun vs another barrel

i have been thinking about either getting another shotgun with a rifled barrel or just buy another barrel for my remington 870. i have been thing about this for years and i just wanted to see what thoughts everybody would have one here. btw i have 2 12s a 20 and a 16ga so i dont really need another shotgun unless it a a 10ga for turkey. thanks

they're not very expensive (the whole gun) but barrels are still cheaper. No need for a new gun really, that receiver will hold up to many times more rounds than you will ever likely put through it.
I would try and find a used one, many don't get used very much and can be had much better than new ones.

So +1 for just a new barrel

Re: new shotgun vs another barrel

I did the new barrel. I now have two types of 12ga shotgun in one. I had a 30" full choke barrel on the gun, a Remington 1100. Bought a 28" barrel with RemChokes. Cut the 30" barrel to 18 1/2" for a home defense shotgun. Next will be the slug barrel. One gun, many uses!
