Carl Gustafs 1918

I am having trouble getting the bolt together. It seems to have a lot of play on the end that has the safety / once tightened up I have to back off 1/2 to 3/4 turn for proper alignment. Anybody guess what I'm doing wrong? Can't get it together if safety is up position as described to me by someone. Instructions or video would be welcomed.

Jack
I was not getting it down on the firing pin far enough.

Now it seems I safety won't engage in cocked position without pulling the hammer back a bit. All the numbers match. Have not fired the gun and did not take time to inspect the bolt function before beginning to clean it up. The gun was still packed in cosmoline.

Any ideas?

somethings out and mines in the lock up so i cant just whip it out and look sorry , i wont get there for a few days either ( saterday i'm hoping)

all i can think of is you may not be getting the bolt sleeve down far enough

use a piece of soft wood to rest the firing pin tip as you press the bolt sleeve down against the spring. You may not getting the bolt sleeve down far enough to the last notch on the firing pin before turning the cocking piece to lock it on.
