Escalation: Israel/Gaza
Israel carried out a large strike against Gaza today. Killed the Hamas military chief and his son along with several others.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worl...ir-strike.html More at Drudge. Things keep heating up over there, what with Iran/Syria/Turkey/Egypt, et al. No end point in sight. |
Re: Escalation: Israel/Gaza
Update: Israel has ramped it up in the last couple hours. Artillery, warships off the coast, and ground forces getting their battle rattle on for a ground incursion.
I wouldn't be surprised if Egypt and Iran jumped into this. |
Re: Escalation: Israel/Gaza
Good for Israel! And I agree that hostilities will ramp up fast!

Re: Escalation: Israel/Gaza
Israel fired at and struck two Syrian mortar launchers on Monday, following the second time in as many days that Syrian artillery shells exploded in Israeli territory. http://www.jpost.com/Defense/Article.aspx?id=291470

Re: Escalation: Israel/Gaza
Let the games begin.............I wonder if this would be happening if Israel had the backing of the US government still.

Re: Escalation: Israel/Gaza
Breaking update on IDF military offensive: Witnesses in Gaza report a number of Israeli strikes in the Strip in recent minutes, including reports of explosions coming from the sea, Palestinian news agency Maan reported. The reports of a strikes coming from the sea were confirmed by the IDF via Twitter.
Maan reported that air and naval bombardments are reaching the Gaza Strip, with witnesses adding that IDF combat soldiers are reaching towards the border. Other Palestinian reports said a car was targeted west of Gaza City. |
Re: Escalation: Israel/Gaza
Egypt has recalled it's ambassador from Israel. Looks like a war coming very quickly.

Re: Escalation: Israel/Gaza
Israel has been at war for over 2000 years. My bet is on Israel, and I am a Southern Baptist Christian..
I had the pleasure of listening to some of their high ranking IDF and Mossad people in Austin TX a few years ago speak on terrorism to our group of law enforcement administrators. I was never in my life more impressed by a group of speakers than I was of them. If I had only one choice to pick someone from anywhere in the world to watch my back, it would be them, hands down. They will win even if they have to turn the rest of the middle east to a shinny glass desert. |

Agreed. It will either go back to the status quo of Israel's continuous struggle ..... or it will be 'end of days'. To soon to tell.

Israel would not have attacked without being provoked. They have had enough.

Re: Escalation: Israel/Gaza
..and they know they are on thier own since the re-election.

Re: Escalation: Israel/Gaza
In a tit for tat, Israel has recalled their ambassador from Cairo.
Since the Muslim B'hood took over in Egypt, relations with Israel have steadily deteriorated and problems in Gaza have gone up. I'm pretty sure the B'hood is going to be opening the border to Gaza and sending in troops and weapons. I'm also sure that Bibi is expecting this to happen and that it is a large part of the reason for the general call up of the IDF. These two kids are ready to fight and Gaza is the playground. |
Re: Escalation: Israel/Gaza
I'm quite surprised they have put up with the "stray shellings" over the boarder for this long. How many years has this been going on? Gaza has been a scrap-yard for decades. The Palastinins have let Hamas do whatever, and now need to pay the price.

Re: Escalation: Israel/Gaza
The whole region has been a powder keg with a slow burning fuse for along time. Israel knows bozo don't have their backs and so do the muslims. I hope Israel kicks the living s$%! outa anyone that messes with them. And not just an ass whoopin, an all out kick 'em when their down beating of their lives.

Re: Escalation: Israel/Gaza
In a breaking BIG ANNOUNCEMENT, Obama told Netanyau that "Israel has the right to defend itself". http://www.jpost.com/Headlines/Article.aspx?id=291902

Re: Escalation: Israel/Gaza
It is all coming together now....
Obama reelected, Mayan calendar ending, Israel saying "enough is enough" In the book by Douglas Adams - Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy.... people at the national aquarium who had been trying for years to communicate with dolphins using computers and sign language arrived one morning to find all the dolphins gone. In fact all the animals were gone. A message was flashing on the computer screen.."So long and thanks for all the fish" Unknown to mankind, an intergalactic memo had been sent out saying the planet earth was in the way of a new intergalactic transportation system and would be destroyed in two days. All the "smart" animals got the message and left the planet. Man was left standing around scratching his head. |
Re: Escalation: Israel/Gaza
Good for Israel. We need a government like that. That doesn't take any crap. God bless Israel.

Re: Escalation: Israel/Gaza
With Obama re-elected they have no support from the US, they finally are taking everything into to their own hand and saying screw the UN. (Good for them)

Re: Escalation: Israel/Gaza
They waited at their own risk for the American voters to send a strong message to the Islamic world. The Pro Muslum American President was chosen to lead the United States for another four years. They must now move on their own. Our own Army and security is weak from scandles and misdirection. The U.S. economy is bleeding and the President is calling for more taxes. Our weak leaders are letting WWIII start . They will now be forced to lead. Can they do it?
