Factory AR15 Stock

I cant figure out what to oil this stock with to return it to its natural black color...It looks as though the oils I use to lube the piece will occasionally wick out, and produce a nice black color, but when I use those same oils on the stock it just turns white again. :(

Any ideas?

Mateomasfeo: I kind of remember it being that way from the factory, but got worse... Since I had originally used Rusty Duck gun lube for the action, and that had wicked out on the stock leaving a nice black 'area'...I just gave it a liberal dose of that which really made it worse.

Good news though, I just gave it a bath in some Break Free, and it looks like it's going to dry to a nice desirable finish...Hard to beat the CLP! LOL.

Thanks for your response.

I've had good luck with armour-all on my AR's. Go easy or you'll make it slick...

Hmmm, neat idea... Tire Wet seems to creep, somewhat uninvited, into my brain now. :D

You have to be careful with some of that stuff...those petrochimical solvents may make it look good for a while but over time they ruin the stuff.

That dosen't surprise me a bit SOT...But the CLP is working almost too well, shining like glass, so I wont mess with a good thing.

Thanks for the advice.
