Why I voted Democrat
 

I really didn't vote Democrat but I saw the following yesterday and realized how well it decribes those who voted for Democrat in the national elections:

I voted Democrat because I believe that George Bush is a criminal for listening in on phone conversations placed to the middle east.

I voted Democrat because I believe that a border patrol agent should spend 11 years in jail for shooting a drug smuggler in the ass

I voted Democrat because I believe that a graduation rate of under 50% in the Los Angeles unified school district is acceptable.

I voted Democrat because I believe that with a California budget deficit of 42 Billion indicates we need more entitlement programs.

I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn't.

I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

I voted Democrat because freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

I voted Democrat because when we pull out of Iraq I trust that the bad guys will stop what they're doing because they now think we're good people.

I voted Democrat because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.

I voted Democrat because I believe that people who can't tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don't start driving a Prius.

I voted Democrat because I'm not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

I voted Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as THEY see fit.

I voted Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite The Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.

Yep, it's all true. I was just so disappointed in our choices this past election. Senator McCain has my respect for his military service, but he's no conservative. We'll see what happens in a couple years, but by then the electoral process is likely to be so corrupt that we can't trust the results of the elections. Maybe we're there already ? I'm tired of thinking about it all...

I like irony and satire. So do the Dems as long as it is not portaying them. It is only good to portray Republicans that way.

It amazes me that there are still people who think socialism is a viable type of government. Unfortunately I attend classes with them almost exclusively which is very taxing at times (photography major). I suppose they suffer from the same problem most socialists do, complete lack of a history education... think I'll start calling it socialistitis. :D

I keep asking myself...was McCain the best the R's could do?

It actually hurt casting my vote for McCain, but I had no other choice.

As bad of a canidate McCain was, coupled with the worst run campain in history it was close. I think most of the votes McCain got were from people like me...him or obama, so it was just votes against obama. If they had a canidate people could get behind, we wouldn't be s.O.l. now.

All the above reasons in the first post are true for why people voted for obama.

I think there are only two reasons people voted for McCain.

He isn't obama.

He's old and might die soon, making Palin the President.
