J. C. Grubb & Company, Philadelphia, PA
I recently came into possession of a percussion rifle which my gunsmith measured to be approx. 50 cal. I can't seem to find out anything about this company it's history.
I've found some info about the company as manufacturing pistols but not long guns. Where could I go to find out something about it? |

Good to see you here, joystick. Somebody who knows the old ones will be along shortly.

Re: J. C. Grubb & Company, Philadelphia, PA
the only listing i have for J.C. Grubb & Co. is in "American Gun Makers" by satterlee & gluckman. it states in business at 712 market street Philadelphia. PA between 1855 and 1886. it does not say if he was a manufacturer or a retailer. there is a G. Grubb making percussion firearms in new york and a T. Grubb about 1820 also of Philadelphia. most likely all related.
