And The Hits Keep On Coming!
I had just got done paying for a Finn M39, when I saw a Finn capture 91/30 with an SA stamped barrel on ********* with a buy it now price of $299. Figuring I had no chance, I put in a bid of 100 bucks.
It won! So in one week I get Mosins #9 and #10. |
Re: And The Hits Keep On Coming!
congratulations :) right place, right time :D
you "stole" that 91/30 capture Sir. Well done!!! NOW---> Which of your Mosin babys is the favorite???????? |
Re: And The Hits Keep On Coming!
I am waiting to receive my M39 and SA before I choose!;)

Re: And The Hits Keep On Coming!
There is no cure for Mosinitis. You can only alleviate the symptoms by buying a new Mosin.

Re: And The Hits Keep On Coming!
I got my 91/30 for $115. I didn't think that was a bad price. My buddy got his M44 for $89.

Re: And The Hits Keep On Coming!
My last 91/30 was 90 bucks shipped. My M44 laminated was $79.95 + shipping.
But both were before you know who got elected. |
Re: And The Hits Keep On Coming!
And what shows up in the big brown truck today?
My 1938 Izzy Finn capture SA stamped barrel 91/30. Two new Mosin Nagants in two days. I'm as happy as a pig in poop! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...PICT0001-6.jpg |

Re: And The Hits Keep On Coming!
thats a good lookin mess of 'legend rifles' The czar himself would be proud to see them still in action;)

Re: And The Hits Keep On Coming!
So give us the specs on the M39. Is it a Sako, VKT, Tikka, B barrel? As soon as you shoot it you'll find out that they are much more accurate than the 91/30.

Re: And The Hits Keep On Coming!
They had them at the gun show last weekend here in Greensburgh PA for 95 dollars but they were nowhere near as clean looking as those. Seems like you got a great deal.

So gannie, hows that new M39 of yours shoot? GLAD YOU ASKED! Lower group, Czech light ball milsurp. Upper group, my reloads. Point of aim was the 6 o'clock for both groups. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...PICT0004-2.jpg |

Nice groups gan, You have yourself a keeper

Re: And The Hits Keep On Coming!
The other one was not so good. But I am going to give it a more thorough cleaning, and run it through my Outers Foul Out III to see if I can pull out any old lead and copper deposits. It didn't shoot bad, all were inside the 8" target, just no tight groups.
|
Re: And The Hits Keep On Coming!
Gosh, pulled a TON of old copper out. The gun would almost HAVE to shoot better, now. Guess I have a trip set up this Sunday with some buds to find out.

Re: And The Hits Keep On Coming!
Ahh, may have found the problem. This lady seems to prefer Bulgie heavy ball. May have to try a different reload, all mine were only 147 grains.

Gandog:
Pardon me for asking this. Are you attracted to rifles which mostly have attractive outside features, or do you check the bores' condition and then study the external parts? |
