Pyrodex 30 grain pellets in 1851 Navy Brass Revolver?
Just got a new Pietta 1851 Brass Navy revolver. I read somewhere that you should only USe 25 grains of pyrodex with this gun. So if this is true it would be a no no to use the 30 grain Hodgdon Pyrodex pellets, right?

Sounds to me like you answered your own question. 25 grains is max not 30 grains as per your firearm manual.

I use 15 or 20 for plinking loads and 35, (rarely), for heavy duty work, No reason really to go over your 25 grains, you won't notice the difference on your target.

My Manual for my Traditions 1858 .44 Revolver says 22 to 30 3f or Pyrodex for round ball and 19 to 25 3f or pyrodex for conical.
I bought some 30g Pellets,,will let you know how they work when I get them,,, |

You may have a problem getting the ball to seat flush if you use 30 grains of powder.
