Conversion magazine

I have a 1911. I can use any 1911 mag. Don't matter who made it. GI, Wilson, Kimber, Colt, Chip McCormick, whoever. It'll work.

Then if I pull that 45 top and put a 9mm top on it, it will still use anybody's 9mm 1911 mags.

But, if I put a 22 top on it, can I use any and all?

I have a Colt Ace conversion. Colt magazines for that thing are on up there.

Wow. I just looked. 65 bucks, at Midway. I knew they cost, but the last ones I bought were some 20 years ago, and they were only ("ONLY", the man says:eek:) 35.

Now, Kimber and Ciener (and maybe some others) make conversions also. Can their mags be used in my Colt? Can my Colt mags be used in those guns?

Hell, for all I know, they cost MORE money. I've never priced them 'cause I didn't think they'd work. But I'm curious. Anybody know?

Wow. Just looked. Kimber is 25 bucks.

Best answer is "maybe." Different extractor width, angle, yada yada...

Alpo, the colt .22 kit i had for my 1911 would not take any other mags than the colt kit mags

the mag lock was way different than anything else... i tried ..... and they where like $45 back then ( 18 years ago )

i found one that would feed if i taped it in otherwise when the action cycled the mag would fall out .. ( not a good look eh )
