I would suggest keeping the paperwork in a sealed folder , or even laminating it, to protect it. There will be a day when the paper is worth more than the pistol , && it is a nice one !!

Probably a close copy of a Smith & Wesson, or a Colt. Get it checked out by a gunsmith before trying to shoot it & verify the caliber. DON'T shoot any high power loads in it.

I use to use nothing but short hollow points many years ago , when I hunted. Fairly low noise, hard hitting, & they would feed well thru my Remington 550. It would even feed CB'S as well !!

That's a nice one. I had one with a blond stock as well, years ago. That is most likely 8 x 56R . Is there a large " S ,, or H " on top of the receiver ??

May be a Mexican Mauser with sporterized stock. Some of these were converted to 30-06, & .308. so don't try to shoot it til it is looked at by a good gunsmith.
