Re: Open Carry in Kentucky
It's legal in Michigan but I'm too much of a wimp to do it.
I have a CPL instead.
I'm old and just too scared about the reaction I might get from the LEO community. I wish I had more...

Re: Question on 4 Dissenting Justices in Heller
I agree in the main with what you state.
However, Nordyke (CA-9) discussed Heller and, that discussion/analysis, caused the Ninth Circuit to overrule their previous collective rights only...

Re: Question on 4 Dissenting Justices in Heller
Yes Pops, that is the "flavor" of the answers I'm getting at all the gunsites where I posted this question.
Precedent is important but not ironclad.
At least, it is normal procedure to respect...

Question on 4 Dissenting Justices in Heller
I have a question for you guys:
In Heller, supra, we had four Justices who said the 2nd Amendment only applies to individuals connected with a militia.
The majority ruled, however, that the 2nd...

Re: The Second Amendment---Broken down
The biggest point I think belercous misses is this IMHO:
The SCOTUS ruled in Heller, supra, that an individual, unconnected to a militia, can own a firearm for self defense purposes.
It was a...

Re: The Second Amendment---Broken down
belercous: Read Federalist Paper No. 29. It gives Hamilton's take on militias and allowing individuals to own firearms. It shows, IMHO, that the 2nd Amendment was viewed by at least one founding...

Re: Sotomayor's on gun rights (today)
I don't believe her completely but incorporation will win in the SCOTUS with or without her IMHO.
Sorry to change the subject but did you guys/gals see this letter written to Eric Holder from 23...

Good going!! BTW, she isn't a "convert", she just never owned a firearm. Now if you changed her parents' ridiculous attitude, you'd have converts! :)

Re: Democrats on Guns
The facts for over 40+ years now clearly show the Democratic leadership to be rabidly anti-gun.
The Republicans, by and large, over this same time period, have been clearly pro-gun.
These facts...

Re: Is Gun Control Ever Legitimate?

Felons shouldn't own guns IMHO until they are released and, let's say, stay clean for another 10 years?
As far as heavy ordnance, I think the founding fathers leaned...

Re: Listen to This
I have no idea what you are talking about.
Once again you are "all over the place".
Capitalist health care is not tyranny over men. It is an industry where profits and losses can be made. ...

They sure do seem to come "full-circle" don't they?
Except, under Fascism, aren't people allowed to own their own property and businesses? Whereas, under Communism, the State owns all property?

+1 billion!!
Anyone who still thinks Islamic extremists are no threat is living with their heads in the sand IMHO.
Then here's another of Alva's gems:
Okey dokey.
