It sounds like the same problem the Hi-Point C-9s have. If it is, a simple tweak of the magazine lips inward with a needle nose pliers might solve the problem. It did on my C-9.

I'll cast a vote for the XDS. I love mine and I like the grips better than the 220 compact. Otherwise they are both great choices.

I had a 67 Thunder Chicken with a 428 crammed under the hood. That car was ugly as sin, but it got from point A to point B very fast.

I just ordered a galco holster for my 1911. A couple days ago I stumbled across two 100 ct. boxes of .45acp at Walmart and grabbed them.

I bought my XDS for $549 a couple weeks ago. It has a very manageable recoil. It does not conceal nearly as well as the advertisements would have you believe, but it does fit in a vest or coat pocket...

I've been looking for the RIA tactical for myself. They are hard to find around here. There are a few of the regular GI models, but I don;t care for the fixed front sight. At my age, that glow stick...

Last night there were 20 guys lined up at the local hardware store to fight over 10 boxes of .22 shells. .357 rounds came in too, but are double the original price.

Two Taurus 1911s a 9mm blue for my daughter and a .45 for myself. Two extra mags and two boxes of ammo. Oh and a pack of shoot-n-see targets.

I know, there are only two ranges in the area and they only rent out used guns for obvious reasons, but they rarely get 1911s of any size in on trade. Hopefully, the guns shops don't sell out before...

I thought about the hi-power, but they are harder to find than hens teeth around here. Two of the guns shops near us are getting 9mm 1911s in tomorrow and I am taking off work tomorrow to check them...

I'm trying to find a local range that has one so she can try it first. I tend to agree with PMK, the 9 will have more felt recoil than the .45. I might be wrong. I have found one on E-Sarcoinc (sp)...

I shoot my 1939 Mosin-Nagant quite often, but my favorite is my 1943 British Enfield. If I get a chance to go hog hunting this is the rifle I'll take.
