Re: Some silly newbee questions: primers and powder

Count, when you look at the loading section of the manual it will tell you which primer to use for the case and load that you are going to use.

Re: Lead Bullets?

I've used nothing but lead bullets in my Win 94 30-30 for several years. With a little patience you can get some very accurate loads with them.

Re: Primer pocket cleaning

It only takes a second and at least you can see if there is anything in the flash hole. And I've always cleaned them so why change now. Do dirty primer pockets create any problems? Haven't a clue,...

Re: One reloading manual

For many years I only had two manuals. One was the lyman and the other was the lyman for cast bullets. I have more now but I usually go to the Lyman first.

Re: Washing Brass Instead of Polishing?

I never cared what the looked like, as shiny doesn't shoot any better. But....I do clean them to save wear and tear in the dies. Plus some cases, such as the Swiss K31, size a whole lot easier if...

Re: Once fired 308 brass source?

I've dealt with this guy a few times and was satisfied. Of the last 300 .308s only 2% were not the same brand.

Re: NOOB question

First you start reloading to save money, but you shoot more, so it doesn't work.

Then you start casting and reloading your own. Now you do save money!!! :D

I checked the 30-30 because it was on the list. But to be truthful I'd be carrying my .308 lever.

Re: reloading location II

You might think about putting a removable rug on it as well. That way nothing rolls, and when you spill powder you can take it outside and shake it.

Yup...That's how it works. If you fire a rifle absolutely level and drop a bullet by hand at the same time, both will hit the ground simultaneously.

A truly flat shooting rifle would be capable of hitting the target's center at 25 yards or 1,000 yards without ever moving the sight adjustment.
