Look at Black Hole Weaponry. They make very nice barrels that are very affordable for the average guy and id say they shoot as good as any out there.

its just the regular sporter barrel at 16" i think. i understand about the fitting.

The foreend on the stock is just regular sporter and not a target.

another reason for the new laminate stock...

Other than personal prefrence are there other benefits to a thumbhole stock over a regular stock?

The reason i ask is because the rifle my girlfriend uses for deer hunting is a ruger mk77 in .243...

I had an AMT automag II. I never had any problems with it, but didnt really like the cost of the ammo. the thing was LOUD though! Mine had the 6" barrel and would run through a clip without a hiccup....

I put together a spikes this year for my girlfriends father. He loves it! Hes in the military and he likes it more than his issued weapon! Any other AR that i put together will be spikes for sure

the only compound i have right now is valve lapping compound. could i take a file and flatten the hump that i have and then polish ive already squared up the cocking piece on a whetstone.

H-D Ive cleaned the bolt inside and out many times with brake cleaner and oiled it up and it still doesnt help

This doesnt have the mauser type safety. It has a safety on the right side of the bolt like say a remington 700.

by screws do you mean the ones that hold the reciever to the trigger guard? irrc ( im not near the gun right now) the trigger is held to the reciever by pins. I dont know if youre really familiar...

I tried it and it didnt change anything. the bolt moves up and down fine as long as its cocked but as soon as its fired then the bolt becomes hard to move

i disassembled the bolt and cleaned everything with the best cleaner i had on hand (rubbing alcohol)and Qtips till the stayed clean then i cleaned the lug recesses with Qtips and oiled everything up...

I just tried that and it still pulls hard. i worked the bolt and pulled the trigger on an empty chamber and it pulls up hard
