Re: how much crimp is enough / too much
Are you being obtuse as a fishing expedition?
All that preparation and YOU act as if crimping is "overboard!"
I can't believe you think this advances your argument.
No, you're way...

WOW! What lengths you guys go to give bad advise.
The scope question was amusing... Fallacy: Red Herring (http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/red-herring.html) The equivalent to that story...

Re: how much crimp is enough / too much
I chronographed my bullet puller; 25fps is the speed I use to pull bullets, my fastest swing was 68fps, (which would have to damage the bullet puller if I actually hit the wood block.)
...and...

Re: Time to Replace my 9mm
Well, I am thinking I'll have to do some wheeling and dealing in order to get a Ruger 1911 for around $600... which shouldn't be too hard.

Re: how much crimp is enough / too much
You do understand that it doesn't take a 140 or a 90mph swing to make it work, right?
I doubt that is humanly possible; at least the 140mph.
The comment was displaying what velocity a cartridge...

Re: how much crimp is enough / too much
LOL! Precious!
So in other words, for inertia pullers to work, the head must travel 140mph.
I thought it said yards, not feet. It then would be about 90mph; about as fast as a professional...

Re: Time to Replace my 9mm
If all the twists are close to that, then it must have been that the bullet was going just above supersonic. Because that twist is more than sufficient.
My 357 looks to be about 1 in 20.

9mm 40 & 50 Yards (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOq5gIAG-wQ&feature=relmfu)
I could hit at 40 yards every time, but when I got further the bullets would be all over the place.

Time to Replace my 9mm
I traded my Smith & Wesson 659 9mm for my 686 357 and now I need to fill that void with a semi-auto handgun. I have it narrowed down to a few choices under $500. Tell me which one you think is best....

Re: Dry fire practice, how often?
I guess it depends on the way your firing pin is setup. If keeps cushioning on the metal I would think it would work somewhat. I've heard of people replacing the spent primer with hard rubber.
