They will hold 10 but it takes force get get the last one in the mag. I'm told that loading up the mag and letting it set for a couple of days will loosen the spring. The Glock loader can be junked...

Re: Anybody ever use "Black Bullets"?

I've used BBI in 9mm (147 gr LFN) and 45 acp 200 gr LSWC) and am very happy with them. They are fairly uniform, the coating is hard and clean, and best of all they shoot clean and are as accurate as...

Re: Should I trade my glock 30

Picking up this thread again, you didn't say which model (20 or 29), but if it was me I would only consider the trade if it was for the 20.

I'm pretty good for the rest of the year, but the first thing I'll run out of is SPP.

Re: Trigger ?

Try a good 'smith rather than try to tackle it yourself. I had a similar issue with one of mine and the price of a 'smith was cheap compared to screwing up a good pistol.

Re: Low Recoil load for my woman's .38 ultralight

By far, the lightest recoiling 38 sp. I've every shot was with a start load of TrailBoss under a 158 gr LRN. This probably falls into the cowboy load spectrum.

Re: Shopping for sub compact

Find a range that will rent handguns, rent a variety, and let her decide what is comfortable. I would like the idea of a 5-shot J-frame in 38 spl for her, but that's me not your wife.

Re: Should I trade my glock 30

IMO, keep the 30 and save for the 20/29. The G30 is a good size and, as you probably know, very accurate. I have a Colt 10mm and really like the caliber, but if you don't reload, they can be much...

Re: Just how deep into the case can I load a 45 ACP Lead Round Nose bullet?

The problem with the guage is that it will tell you that a round is more than SAAMI spec (length and diameter) if it doesn't fit, but it will not tell you if it will fit your particular gun. So,...

It is probably worth that amount, especially in today's climate, but I wouldn't spend that for it. For the cost, I would happily settle for a new Ed Brown--but that's just me.

Re: 40S&W Pic and Question

Agreed. I load 180s closer to 1.125". Loading a mite longer won't hurt anything and you may get smoother feeding.

Agreed. I load 'til they get lost or split (and nickle-plated seem to split much faster than unplated). I have some 9 and 10mm brass from back in the early 80s and they are still in use.

I'm a big fan of WSF, especially in heavier 9mm bullets like the 135 and 147. As noted above, you can use the 124 data. I'm not sure Hodgdon isn't just showing max OAL. I would work up from the...

Re: Newbee with questions

If I remember correctly the Dillon Square Deal requires dies made specifically for it. Other than that (to my knowledge) interchangeability isn't a problem with modern equipment.

Re: Rainer Plated Bullets

And, don't worry, they won't cause leading. The problem with plated bullets is that high velocities the plating can separate from the core and your accuracy will go to pot.

Re: .45 ACP - - opinions please

I've found Speer to give pretty realistic velocity data. For 230 LRN (use for plated) they show 5.1-5.6 with the upper velocity of 831 fps. That is with an OAL of 1.27". Just start low and work up...
