Here's a 1940 Colt, one of the first with the relief cutouts for the trigger and a short one trigger. Then a 1942 with the milled trigger, followed by a 1944 stamped trigger.

The trigger looks ok to me. Here's another 1918 Colt. Colt produced about 319,000 .45s in 1918, most of any year.

If your gun is a complete Colt, WWI 1913, it should look like this. The slide stop, main spring housing, sights, hammer and safety are different.

NRA marked guns
Here is the NRA marking on 95 Springfield 1911 and 47 Colts. That's all there was. This was done from 1914 to 1917 and resumed after WWI until about 1922. Remington rand wasn't in production then.
