Re: zero problem

My brother had the same problem with an old Weaver. Took it to a shop to have it bore sighted and it turned out that the scope went bad. If you tapped the end of the scope the cross hairs jumped.

Re: Search for Serial number

There may not be a number if it was made prior to 1968. Did you find a 2 letter code on the barrel anywhere? If so this will help date it.

Re: Ruger 10/22 vs Marlin 60

Check to see if the inner or outer tube is bent. Typically the inner tube should slide right out with little resistance.

Re: Beginner seeking a .22

A little more information will help
1. What are you hunting?
2. Do you want a scope or open sights?
3. Do you want a clip magazine or a tube magazine?
4. Do you intend to add accessories and...

Re: First Rifle. Suggestions?

A couple of questions:
Do you want to, or like to tinker with your guns?
What kind of budget do you have?
I assume a semi-auto is what you are looking at.
If you want an out of the box good...

Re: My Marlin puzzles me

I'm guessing hear but could the takedown screws be loose? With the stingers being a hotter round maybe the extra kick is causing things to move.

Re: Open Sights anyone?

I enjoy target shooting with aperture sights more than a scope. I haven't hunted so I can't say to that end of the game.

Re: a sad story

I do not understand why people will by a 10/22 and then buy a new barrel to make it accurate. I have no experience with a 10/22 but I have a '86 Marlin 60 that will make under 1" groups at 50 yards...

Your magazine is very similar but does not match. I expect it will fit another Marlin model.
