Not sure about MIL ammo in a civilian model weapon, but the other way works just fine. Civilian ammo fires pretty well in a military weapon- even dirty.

You might want to check out (or someone else who knows what they are) the ejector spring. They only occaisionally go bad (all my experience is with Army M16s, but the ejector is the same.
