You should be OK with .32 S&W, not the .32 S&W Long. Since nobody knows what the previous owners ran through it, be safe, just because the Longs physically fit, doesn't mean they should be used. If...

They were only produced 41-45, issued to NCOs and designated snipers. They were great prize weapons when captured by the Germans. What few survived got passed out as aid to VietNam, Syria, Iraq, Cuba...

I'd crimp it. I use Lee Factory crimp dies on any loads to be used in a wheelgun.

You are catching on! you shouldn't have case length problems until you've fired and re-sized a few times. Don't be in a big hurry. lots of powder has been showing up down here as of late.

Buy one pound of powder at a time, you will be experimenting with bullet weights and powder types and charge for a while with each until you find the combination that works best for you. Load 20-50...

Last year I shot up some .32S&W ammo that was from the 20's. (Peters brand) It was fine. I've read that eventually say after 40-50 years, the pressure can be higher, but not outside of the safe...
