Re: Shotgun, 10 gauge, single barrel, lever action

finding one you can still USE would prove to be pretty difficult, but you could own something close in 12 gauge made by Norinco

Re: Poll - Rock Island 1911s

I like the RIA. It's one of the few bare bones 1911's available these days. I never go for the bells and whistles. My favorite part about the RIA is the price. If you get one of the less recent...

Re: Need First 1911

Rots of ruck with that. Around here, $600 barely gets you a basic G.I. Model. It IS Kalifornia though.

Re: First post: About .45 Peacemakers

There is no top loading Colt. There was the Smith and Wesson Top-Break that was a single action revolver of the same period.

Re: What caliber is the best.

30-30. A Marlin 336 gives you 6 rounds in the tubular magazine and it feels like you're shooting a .22...It can take damn near any animal in the United States too.

Just my $.02

Re: Pistol gripped vs Straight stocked levers and Scopes

I voted for Pistol Grip because, it just feels better in the hand but, the straight stock is a lot sexier :D

Re: A good shotgun for me...

Elaborate please. Your post confuses me. I have one of these shotguns in 12 gauge. When the action is open, the release button is locked. You only press that button if the gun is already cocked.

I would ditch the Spartan and go for an NEF or Rossi. They're better guns for a lot less.

If you must carry the Charter, use semi-wadcutters. Then file them to a needle point :D

Re: KelTec surprise

Congrats Oldredneck. The only things that suck about those little KelTecs are the trigger pull and the polymer frame. Had one in .32 acp. I was always nervous that it might blowup :D :D

I want something in .44 caliber. Either a Charter .44 Special or a Taurus/Ruger .44 Magnum.

Everytime I check, the Rossi lever action rifles have gone up in price. Less than a year ago they were around 350-375 and now they're pusing 5 bills.

What can you suggest to keep moisture out? I live in Southern California. Would the moisture packets that the safe came with be enough?

Thanks,

Re: H&R 38S&W ctce

Those H&R's generally don't fetch much these days. At most usually $200-300. That longer barrel is on the rare side though. Someone will be along to tell you more exact values. ;)

Re: Mossberg or Remington

I got a Remington 870 but, if I could do it over again I would probably go for the Mossy. The 870 is an excellent shotgun but, I don't really like the finish =/

Thanks Shooter45,
I would get a Taurus but, Kalifornia has outlawed them! :(

Been putting it off for a while...
