Re: Why we shoot deer in the wild

I just post photos of my wife around a deer feeder. It uglies them to death. I initially used photos of my mother in law but it tore the meat up too bad.

Re: Louisiana has an admendment up for vote concerning guns

Not so. A felon can get an expungement in the state in which the felony was charged. It does carry a cost but if the person wants it bad enough and meets the requirements, it can be cleared from...

Re: Obama came out of the closet

Not trying to make any adversaries here, but some need to read the law that Romney signed while governor. It was fully supported by the NRA as well as having the NRA assist in the wording of the...

Re: Louisiana has an admendment up for vote concerning guns

The Amendment is the strictest in the US, if passed. It looks like it will pass very easily. Using the level Strictest Scrutiny, it would almost take a SUpreme Court decision to change or attack...

Re: The wife and I exercised our right to keep and bear arms today.

I voted during early voting yesterday and I did not vote for Mr Obama.

The better part is I voted for Amendment #2 on the ballot. If passed, it will give Louisiana the strongest pro gun law in...

Re: 14 dead, 50 wounded in shooting at Colorado

I do not doubt what Dan believes and in some areas he may be right. Yet there are competitions held across the US for law enforcement officers and thousands compete. These guys are not casual...

Re: 14 dead, 50 wounded in shooting at Colorado

I have been in the US Army and have been in law enforcement in some capacity for the last 40 years. Do not bet you shoot more than police officers. I usually run about 500 rounds a week during...

Re: 14 dead, 50 wounded in shooting at Colorado

For those that think the taking of a life is easy, it is. Living with it afterward is difficult. You always think about if there was something else that could have been done. You question your...

Re: 14 dead, 50 wounded in shooting at Colorado

If one notices, most of such incidents take place where the shooter is under 30 yrs old. Sadly most have a history of being a fan of firearms.

If this had taken place in a smaller venue with...

Re: 14 dead, 50 wounded in shooting at Colorado

To those wondering what would have happened if others had been armed in the theater:

There would have been more innocent victims.

The man tossed a couple of smoke grenades. That covered him...

Re: 1911 help

In my opinion, it is best to get a quality gun up front. Hopefully it would be a MAde in America gun.

Your first impressions will last forever. A gun made in the Phillipines, Japan or elesewhere...

You are correct on the fees and possibly on the conservative side.

However, let's say you shoot the wrong person and are so charged. You are guilty and still likely to lose everything you have...

Now please consider this, and...

Re: 1911 ambi safety

Nope, it is not hitting anything. The good in this is that all I have to do is pick the gun up and immediately know the part has came out.

It has a positive click on and off. It does not shake...

Likely 90% of those watching the show would not know what...

You are exactly right. Before a state can honor that of another, the requirements for the other state must meet or exceed the home state.

Then the Legislature must pass a law allowing to adopt...

Tension is normal. The left arm has a bad habit of falling out of the gun. Did so about six times so far this year. It works fine and has good tension on it and has a positive click upon engaging...

Re: 1911 ambi safety

My holster is cut for the ambi safety so it cannot be knocked off safety while in the holster. The issue I have with the 1911 is in either jarring loose or knocking it's self loose.

Re: Can a gunsmith repair this?

Why not just buy new part? The gun would be the same and functional. A part is cheaper than the entire gun and a lot better than experimental repairs that may or may not hold.

1911 ambi safety

Unusual problem and it seems to never go away.

I carry a custom S&W 1911 daily. It sees 200-300 rounds being fired weekly.
The gun is exremely accurate, handles well and is a pleasure to carry...

Re: 1911 on full cock?

That is the only way to carry.

With so many safety devices on a 1911, it is virtually fool proof.

I keep mine fully loaded, cocked and locked. As I draw, my thumb is releasing the safety as...

Both guns are made by quality manufacturers. S&W is outselling Colts and Glock. As far as I know, Colt is no longer actively seeking revolver buyers and is mainly in the...
