Oh I should ask this as well. What ammunition do people suggest for this shooter. First off I was told stick to factory and no reloads. Told not to allow FPS greater then 1050fps. Mentioned 124's not...

Even going back years I was reloading my .38 due to cost. And I did a fair amount of shooting as the 642 was my carry piece. I hate to be that guy but start reloading and shoot More for the same...

Sounds like the powder did not ignite fully (or got compromised some how see clumps you speak of)
If the primer went off (but no powder burn) that is still enough to get the projectile moving and...
