You should get a Colt, the true 1911 .45. All the other ones are just remakes.

Re: Trap or Skeet Shotgun recommendations
When I shoot clay targets I use different 12 gauge semi-automatic shotguns, and they all work great, but I prefer Remington or Winchester.

I'd go with the classic Colt 1911. The most reliable .45 in my opinion.

I'd definitely with the .444 at close range, packs a lot more punch.

Re: M1 carbine vrs. 1911
I would take the M1, it is more accurate and a good light carbine, but mainly because of magazine capacity advantage.

Re: M-14 vrs. M-16

The USMC Marine Expeditionary Unit still use a version of the M1911 called the MEU(SOC).

Re: Best cal.
I'd go with the .22 LR because it's cheaper and does less damage to the squirrel than the .22 magnum would do.

Re: Recommendations for 22 Pistol
North American Arms makes small pocket .22 single-action revolvers that would be good in that situation.
