Re: vortec pistol

I have the older Buckhunter Pro and it is a hoot. After 25 rounds my hand starts to feel it though. The 209 primer like yours has would be nice. Maybe...

Re: traditions vortec pistol

I've been waiting to hear about these too. I have one of the buckhunter inline pistols, and thought the 209 Vortek would be a nice addition to my addiction, I mean collection.

Re: T/C Hawken .45 flintlock

Look on BrandX for item 173420978. I tried to paste a link, but it won't allow it here.

Re: Striped Bass off Barnegat Inlet

Yeah, but the Causeway bridge backing up is another sign it's getting warmer too. ;)

Re: Pietta 1858 44 Cal Revolver Nipple Wrench

Try Dixie Gun Works. On a side note, don't forget to use anti-sieze on the threads. You can get it at Wally world, or any auto parts store. You'll never have a stuck nipple again.

Re: Ruger 77 MK II in .222

Thanks for the input. I bought it to shoot, and shoot it I did. Nice little varmint gun at that too. :) Thanks again.

Re: 1860 Colt Army vs. 1858 Remington Army

I have both, and until you shoot both, it's a tough decision. I like the strength of the Remington, as well as the quick cylinder changes, but prefer the larger grips and feel of the '60 Colt. It...

Re: Ruger 77 MK II in .222

Thanks for the link. I'm guessing gun value isn't very volatile, and it takes quite a bit of time for them to appreciate. I also think that just because it's somewhat rare, that doesn't tend to...

Ruger 77 MK II in .222

I came across a Ruger 77 Mark II in .222 that was made as a collectible for the foundry that made the steel for Ruger. From what I've read, that caliber wasn't offered to the public, and only 2,440...

Re: Pietta 1858 44 caliber cap and ball revolver

Try each and see what groups better. Seems most of my Piettas shoot better with .454, But my Uberti Walker shoots better with a .457. I thought the .451 was too loose and didn't trust it to stay...

Re: How Jefferson & Madison intended this Republic to opperate

If these guys were alive today, they wouldn't stand a chance. They'd be smeared and drug through the mud.

Re: Another newbie with questons

Get her a .31 Remington 63 pocket pistol. My wife likes shooting it, and that takes some doing. It's pretty small, and not intimidating in the least. Neat little plinker to boot.

Re: Blackpowder rifle bluing

I used Birchwood Casey Plum Brown. Bluing doesn't look very authentic. The plum brown is easy to use. Works best for me by heating with a propane torch, applying with a swab, and following up...

Re: Muzzleloader question

I'm kind of new to the whole black powder thing, so this may sound dumb, but isn't it a bad idea to use a steel ram rod on a steel barrel around black powder? I always assumed that non ferrous...

Re: Howda Pistol

Howdy. I've been lurking here for a while, this is my first post. The Cabelas Howdah does have the ramrod attached under a hinged retainer that pivots for loading. You can unscrew one end of it to...
