How about a photo of the touch marks just ahead of the barrels flats so we can try to identify the maker...my guess of value would be $1800 to $2500 and maybe more if it turned out to be a Blitz...

It's a Warnant action...not a Flobert...this means the rifle action is based on the Warnant patent and not necessarily made by the Warnant family of gun makers

Unless you have the bolt face recut, you shouldn't chamber any Hornet cases...but WHY recut the bolt face when you can cut 42 thousanths off the rim of Hornet cases then fireform them in your 5.56 x...

OK...I think I now know what this item is...as ID'd by Bruce Stauff (a knife collector of immense knowledge)...it's a sword issued to the guards at a world expositions...like the St. Louis...

That is a Belding & Mull visible powder measure that has been altered into "trench art" of sorts...the quarter pound powder reservoir has been changed (anti aircraft shell) into a one...

This gun is pre-Anson fore-end latch patent as August used the Anson latch mechanism almost exclusively after about 1890...but even more interesting is the gun appears to be a transitional lock-up...

It is very rare to find a 1B or a 1V that is less accurate than the shooter...when a 1B or a 1V gives accuracy problems, almost invariably it's caused by " excessive operator headspace"...
