Boy do I have a problem. An old friend, age 92, who ran a gun shop for over 60 years brought me a Winchester Bicentennial model 94 which he said was a "John Wayne" 1776-1976 Bicentennial model 94....

I know what that's like. I pumped gas when it was 39.9 cents a gallon! I was happy I had that job. It fed me, wife and son for a couple years before I got a job as a police officer in 1974....

Looks like either a 6 or 6.5 inch barrel, large cylinder diameter bigger than a .38 caliber. Possibly a .44 or .45. That's my best guesstimate.

1. Boil the part with a drop of ammonia

2. Bake in oven at 200 degrees for about 1 hour and wipe with CLEAN cloth and then wash with hot water and bleach.

You can do the same with "CRC" that we used to use in machine shops. Spray and let drip dry. Nothing is more prone to surface rust than a newly machined engine head, crankshaft, etc. Machinists young...

Oh I use it also. It's cheap and readily available. I also heard that for homemade penetrating oil a mixture of transmission fluid and acetone works well. I forgot offhand the ratio. You are correct...

Maybe in Florida the fine money goes into "city coffers" but in Maine local/county LEO fine monies all go to the State of Maine General Fund, so there's no incentive whatsoever to "make fine money"...
