Re: Browning BLR 243
Old thread, but results still get turned up on google..
I'd estimate $550-$800. Acquired one recently, and did some research before making the deal. That is what my research turned up.

Re: Xracer has passed away
I've not been around the forum enough to encounter him, but losing a friend always hurts. Even if all you know them thru is through the net, doesn't make it any less valid..
RIP Good Sir.

Re: Poll results, The Most Dangerous Americans
Also, it seems a good portion of blacks are jaded when it comes to the US Gov't. Overall seems like a pretty good recipe for domestic insurgency. May also be a noteworthy fact that the NBPP(new Black...

Re: Browning BLR (NOT 81) Magazines?
I believe so! I really like the Savage as well, but unfortunately it's not a keeper, as it was promised to a friend before I even made the trade..Has a safety switch, as opposed to a half-cock system...

Re: Leaving a handgun in a hot, hot car...
Do an experiment!
1 - Preheat oven to 450
2 - Toss in some ammo/primers
3 - Start your stopwatch
4 - Clock auto-ignition time(if any)
I'd hazard to guess anything below 250F and you're...

Browning BLR (NOT 81) Magazines?
Howdy! So I got a decent deal on a 243 Browning BLR. Guy said it would only load one into the mag..So I figured eh, and decided to take a risk on it. Glad I did, as it's a lovely machine! The bluing...

Re: 1937 Model 70 270 WCF Value?
Is this a Model 54? Looking at the trigger guard..It seems to resemble that of a 54 more than a 70. Or is it just some early model prototype Model 70?

Re: 1937 Model 70 270 WCF Value?
Would it go up in value if one were to restore the bluing and wood finish?
Throwing collectibility out the window and focusing only on utility, is there a better shooting rifle that can be had for...

Re: 30-06 Barrel Length
Yeah..I don't think I want to mess with trimming it down. A lot of work for a negligible gain in handling, and added concussion.
Ordered this stock:...

So Im putting together a Remington 721 in 30-06. Just ordered a nice thumbhole stock from Boyds, some duracoat paint to go over the decaying bluing job, and have been researching trigger jobs.

I've been researching this some, as I'd like a levergun to complement my wheelgun.

Re: poll: Glocks - luv 'em, hate 'em or in between
The Glock 29sf looks like something I want to try out. 11 rounds of 10mm in a 6.5x4.5" pistola. Ballistics somewhere between a 40s&w and a .357 magnum(nearing closer to the 357).
On paper it looks...

By the looks of the trigger guard, could it be a model 54 with a model 70 barrel?
