I shoot about the same amount and have been doing it for a very long time and I'm just fine and from what I read it's not a problem when you shoot outdoors.

I love my 22's also and have a Remington 552 rifle and 5 handguns and I shoot them often.

These are actually surprisingly good scopes for the price point and would work fine on a 22LR or other big game caliber. I have one on a Ruger Mini 14 Ranch rifle in 223 and one on a SKS.
