Thanks for all the info, there is no marking as to chamber size anywhere on the gun. I noticed another thing on it on the side of the buttstock it has the word CHOKE stamped into the wood any ideas...

I had a M&P 40 for a while I carried while I worked on an armored car. It was outstanding I wish I still had it but had to sell it ( money got tight). I would definitely recommend it.

It looks like you might have a french pinfire revolver from the late 1800's. Yes, the ammo has the firing pin built in coming out of the base of the cartridge at a 90 degree angle hence the slots in...

Hi xracer thanks for the welcome on the top of the barrel it is stamped BROWNING ARMS COMPANY ST LOUIS Mo then on the side of the barrel it is stamped MADE IN BELGIUM
