This white metal being stamped before bluing/chrome/nickel proves to me that proofs may also have been stamped before final finish and grips applied... The question is : What were they proofing......

The Logo looks to be machine routed and the serial number is stamped..
Based upon this, bluing would not drown out the lettering but chrome overlay would diminish the print...but not the stamped...

2 pc grips have destroyed any credibility of this PPK. :-( If Luis has the original Grip, even cracked, this 1943 PPK would be worth much more. :)
