Re: Ruger 10/22 vs Marlin 60

The Marlin's Do have an advantage with their Micro-Grooved barrel, but their feed ramp does cause bullet deformity when forced up the ramp and into the chamber and prone to feed jams with hollow...

Re: Colt Woodsman Sport

Since the weapon has been modified it does de-value it, even though the sights are much improved now. I would go for original, but that's just my way of thinking. There are still some others to be...

Re: .22 Magnums

Today, it's easy to reach near .22 Mag velocities in a handgun when using .22 Hyper-velocity ammo such as the famous CCI Stingers. They are slightly cheaper than .22 Mag. The only difference would be...

Re: Browning Hi Power Questions

You may want to look at the Mark 3 models, most of them were still made in Belgium but assembled in Portugal. Some say they are not as good as an original (Belgium made) but I have one and have put a...

Re: .22 revolver

Ruger single-six has always performed under all conditions. The work-horse of all single action revolvers.

Re: Best Barrel length for .22LR

Well if you use the all around high velocity .22 lr. the powder burns out at around 16 in. any longer barrel is just drag. But if you use hyper-vol. rounds, the longer the better. I think the longest...

Re: Ruger Mark III

If I were to head out to the woods today with only one backpack, I would pick any Ruger semi-auto. My second choice would be a Smith in .22 cal.

Re: What's your favorite .22 rifle ??

The Ruger Mark II is my choice in .22 cal. Easy to pack and very reliable. The only problems I have had with mine is some jamming caused by a misfire or bad ammo. No complaints here.

Re: 12 Gauge or .44 magnum

Have you considered using a shotgun for almost all your hunting needs? With a good shotgun you can hunt anything from Doves to Bear, just change the load. And a light .22 on the waistline is nice.

Re: Walther P22 Good, Crap, or OK?

I worked at a gun shop and always saw the Walter P22's that we sold come back on trade. I never fired one but that kinda tells me something. What exactly? I'm not sure, but thought I would share that...

Re: New to handguns

If it has to be a revolver, maybe you should look into the Charter Arms new pathfinder with a 4 inch barrel. These are well made guns that can be found used at reasonable prices online, or at a local...

Re: Good 5-round group out of a 10/22 carbine at 50 yards?...

Do not discouraged, the 10/22 is a good weapon, I am able to make 1 inch groups at 75 yards with open peep sights. The key is matching the ammo with the rifle, but sometimes one will get a bad...

Re: PHOENIX HP22A

I bought one of these several years ago and I only had one problem with it, and that is that the safety on the slide kept slipping down and prevented firing. I solved it with a drop of super glue. As...

Re: 10-22 jamming problems?

Yes, shooting clean burning ammo and with copper plated bullets makes allot of difference. But if possible, stay away for cheaper bulk ammo for semi-autos only. I understand that's not always a...

Re: Browning Buckmark

The Buck Mark is an excellent choice, I had one for a short time before I had to sell it so I could by food. What a loss that was, a sweet shooter.
