Re: 50 BMG or the CA legal equivalent

the .510 dtc AKA .50 dtc (same thing) is a 50 bmg trimmed back 0.100". It is no longer a "50 BMG" and therefore is legal in Cali.

You do need a big press and dies for it. Lee will custom make dies...

Re: Need some advise

Nickel cases will weigh just as much as a brass case. Alum will be significantly less.

Re: Instead of casting LEAD...

I highly doubt a lee furnace can get above 800-900 degrees

To try this, you would need to set up a foundry

Re: Instead of casting LEAD...

Aluminum melts at around 1200

Putting 2000 degree copper in them would be bad

A steel mold might work

Copper would make a light bullet

It would also have to sit in the mold some time to...

Re: Is this happening to anybody else?

Have been asked a few times. They usually can't agree to the price :)

These are fine made, handcrafted rounds. Not the bulk made rounds coming out of giant factories. Anyone can buy a printed...

Re: Ever get bored and really wonder?...

If really interested, I'll get the camera. Make a fist with your off hand, thumb out. If you were to draw a line across the thumb knuckle, continuing across the knuckle of your pointer finger. It was...

Re: Steel Ammo?

Magnets won't stick to brass. Will stick to plated steel.

They do make "brass colored" steel cases. They call it a copper wash.

The ammo you have is most likely copper washed steel (I have...

Re: Brass Scavenging

Mixed head stamps shoot just fine. I shoot competitions with them too. If I were shooting in pistol competitions that were getting one hole groups at 100 yds, I might separate headstamps. In the mean...

Re: Brass Scavenging

I am a brass whore. I will pick up any damn piece of brass on the ground. I run them through the tumbler until shiny. I share with my fellow reloaders any calibers I don't reload.

Re: Small Pistol Primer in 45 ACP??

Your moving along at a good clip with the dillon and a piece of speer brass hits the priming station. I can almost hear the screech. Dammit speer.

Re: NOOB question

I reload cuz it's better. It turns out to be cheaper too.

BTW I've never saved any money reloading. I have shot a helluva lot more though.

Re: Load confusionin the books.

If a similar cartridge (volume wise), with a similar diameter boolit, has a powder listed, I'd start with that charge minus 10-15%. (Use common sense) Check for signs of pressure.

However, that's...

Re: Cartridge Chamberings?

My money says The extractor will hold the round. BTW The extractor on a .40s&w will hold a 9mm. It will fire a 9mm.

(It wasn't mine, and I tried to explain to the DIC.. I mean gentleman that it...

No law broken. You can legally make ammo, components and guns (following NFA) for your own use (no re-sale)

They are strike anywhere matches and only the tip is the part that will ignite.

US...
