Re: How about some rare or unusual .22 rifles

Nothing rare or unusual here but I sure enjoyed seeing all the cool guns you all have.

Re: Why Do I Want This ?

You can never go wrong buying another gun. I have a Marlin bolt action, a M&P 15-22 ( which I love ) and a Ruger Mark III bull barrel pistol. I still get a craving for a lever action 22 once in a...

Re: PROGRESSIVE PRESS

I was thinking long and hard before I bought my progressive. Like your experience I read about too many problems with the Hornady so I went with the Dillon 550. Still very happy with my purchase.

Re: How often do you re-check powder drops in a progressive?

I check ten charges before I even start to load. Then I will check one in the middle and the last one. All of that is with a scale. I check every powder charge by looking in the case before I set the...

Re: Cost of casting your own bullets

The only thing I can see you are missing is getting lead for free. You can get wheel weights, bullets out of the backstop and lots of other lead for free. Why buy lead when there is plenty of it out...

Re: preferred grains for reloading

I prefer a 124 grain jacketed or 125 grain lead. I like the recoil better than with a 115 grain bullet. I also bought some 135 grain jacketed bullets from Zero that I llike pretty well.

Re: Finally got the tracers in. Is this right?

Mine had a white base. Be careful loading them. The 55 grain tracers I had were quite a bit longer than a 55 grain FMJBT. You will want to adjust the powder charge to allow for the bullet seating...

I'm with you LD. I don't have a good gun shop close by. The local pawn shop and Walmart have reloading supplies but ordering on-line I can get it for almost half their price.

Not familiar with the hornady measure. Could there be a chance you are using the rifle rotor/insert/bar instead of the pistol version, that would make the throws inconsistant. I have used a lot of TG...

Re: 9mm Luger and 9mm NATO

If it's NATO it should also have crimped primers so if you are looking at it from a reloading standpoint there is too much 9mm brass out there to mess with crimped primers.

How do you know the Dew cans weighed 500 grams if you used the uncalibrated scale to weigh them? All digital scales I have seen come with a calibration weight. I wouldn't trust it myself.

It sounds like you didn't reload four years ago when Obama was elected the first time. It was the same problem then without any proposed gun bans. We bring it on our selves with panic buying.

Re: My first aw-sh!#

And you just learned the hard way that you can't tell if a pistol round has the correct charge by weighing them. I had a squib when I was a new reloader.
