Re: just for fun......if you had to pick a .380 what would it be?

It is wonderful to have many choices, but many of the choices do not make sense to me. To me, the only reason to carry a .380 is to get a smaller and lighter pistol than a 9x19. A .380ACP is a...

Re: Llama 45- What is it?

Does the gun in question look like a Colt Government Model clone? If not, it is probably the double action Llama Omni in .45ACP, which definitely is not a Colt Government Model clone.

Re: Beretta Tomcat or Kel-tec P3AT

offeror, the Kel-Tec is not striker fired. It has a hammer and firing pin. I do not find the P11 trigger pull as bad as you say, but I reshaped the trigger to be more comfortable, which I am sure...

Re: Rohrbaugh 9 vs. Kel-Tec P-11

offeror, I have been waiting for the titanium P-145. It was in the catalog when the P-145 was introduced, but has never been put into production, unlike the titanium 9mm. I am still waiting.

Re: Beretta Tomcat or Kel-tec P3AT

Just compare the size. The Tomcat is HUGE! It is almost as big and heavy as an alloy-frame Smith & Wesson J-frame. The extra power of the .380ACP in the smaller and lighter Kel-Tec P3AT makes it...

Re: Rohrbaugh 9 vs. Kel-Tec P-11

The Kel-Tec P11 has been my carry choice in its power and size category since it was introduced. (I have a very low three-digit that has been totally reliable for ten years now.) Compared to the...

Re: Survey: What do you think is the coolest looking pistol?

"Coolest?" Now there is an important criterion!

Just for fun, I will play because secretly, I have always thought certain guns did look "cool," which probably originated when I was a boy looking...

Re: Colt "two-tone" magazines and "breech flame bleaching"

45sef, after the cyanide bath had removed the blue, Colt did not attempt to reblue the now-tempered magazine top, and just left it the way it came out of the bath. I suppose bluing would "take" to...

Re: Colt "two-tone" magazines and "breech flame bleaching"

Xracer, despite the games being played by PS to try to cover the embarassing claim of "breech flame bleaching," the two-tone Colt magazines were first full-blued, then given the cyanide bath on the...

Re: Colt "two-tone" magazines and "breech flame bleaching"

Silver72, thank you for your offer of information from your Clawson book on the commercial Government Models. I am seeking box style and production information on "Post-War/Post-U-Serial-Numbered"...

Re: Walther TPH ~ Whaz the good, the bad, and the ugly?

I have a very early stainless USA TPH and both its grip panels split from the screw holes outward. I replaced them before Interarms went out of business. I have a German TPH that is much older and...

Re: Colt "two-tone" magazines and "breech flame bleaching"

I am glad to see so many who know there is no such thing as "breech flame bleaching" of Colt magazines. I wonder what people think when they hear that description given at a gun show or the like? ...

Colt "two-tone" magazines and "breech flame bleaching"

The claim that Colt two-tone magazines are that way because of "breech filame" from certain ammunition is one of the most shocking claims I have ever heard. I am surprised the thread was closed...

Re: Ruger's reaction to sunset of ban

Ruger has long been too politically correct. Mini-14 magazines holding more than five rounds were withdrawn from public sale in the 1970s as I recall.

The late William Ruger is considered by...

Re: Auto Ordnance D-Day

Artifical scarcity items appeal only to a limited audience, of which I am not one. The people who buy commerative coins, plates, guns etc. do so for reasons I cannot understand. To be worth...

Re: Lever action .22's......

If you are interested in a .22 lever action to go with a Winchester centerfire lever, it seems logical to me that you would want to stay with a Winchester product.

Unfortunately, Winchester has...

Re: Any Kel Tec fans? Their customer service is amazing!

Idsman75, you should have brought it back to me. I could put it back together for you. It is really a simple design with few parts.

Re: S&W Sigma SW9M?

The Sigma SW9M was designed as a "Carry a lot, shoot a little" gun. It is small and light, but is not durable or always reliable. To me, its main drawback is that it is a blowback, which makes the...

Re: Pre-ban Ruger Mini-14?

With the following exceptions, there is no such thing as a "pre-ban" Mini-14. Unless it is a pre-9-13-94 factory GB, a pre-9-13-94 original factory folder non-GB, or a standard Mini-14 modified into...

Re: AK owners how to hold your slide open!

With no intent to offend, altering the gun seems a bit extreme just to avoid popping off the top cover and removing the bolt and bolt carrier when cleaning the chamber. It seems a better job could...
