Re: Brass quality ( Headstamps )

I don't think anybody has mentioned primer crimps yet, I have had to dig them out of a lot of FC and WCC brass in 9mm. You can punch out the old primers easy enough, but if you don't get the crimp...

Re: Dillon Brass Polish results

I don't think the Dillon brand of polish had anything to do with your problem. I have never used Dillon ... always the Frankford Arsenal variant of the polish. I have experienced the same result if...

Re: once-fired 9MM brass

Yeah...+1 to what JLA said about S&B brass.
I would add Starline to the list of good ones.
One note to the seller: in the future, if you want to sell much once fired brass, do NOT clean it,...

Re: once-fired 9MM brass

What are some of the headstamps? If it is military ( WCC, FC-98, LC, etc) it will have a primer crimp that needs to be removed before it can be reloaded. If it is AMERC, you may have trouble GIVING...

Re: Over Tumbling?

Got my 1st tumblers back in the early 1980's and 99% of the time run them overnight. As to mixing walnut with corn, I use two separate tumblers for walnut (1st) and corncob (2nd), my thought process...

Re: Hornady lock n load progressive press vs. ?

Ideally, the best way to pick your equipment would be to have several buddies with several different setups who would let you work with their stuff and figure out what you like and what you don't....

Re: Vibrate Loaded Rounds?

Bindernut: The reference to your 22-250 incident was a possible answer to a potentially dangerous situation, and not meant as a personal attack. Sounds like you keep good records, as do I. Powder...

Re: Vibrate Loaded Rounds?

PRO: You have nice clean shiny rounds.
CON: The potential for a round to detonate is very small. You have many things to pay close attention to during the reloading process, cleaning loaded rounds...

Re: 45 SWC prob

You didn't say if your SWC was cast or jacketed. But before taking the weapon to a gunsmith, get a case length gage and check your ammo. If it won't go in the gage, it probably won't go in the gun....

Re: severely tarnished / stained range brass

Assuming you have a vibrating tumbler: Put your brass in the bowl, just cover it with silica sand, add enough 50/50 Simple Green/Water mixture, you want the sand damp NOT wet, let it run over night....

Re: Depriming Unfired Primers

I have never had one go off while depriming in a press either, but since the question is from a new guy, I would add that this should be done ONLY on a Single Stage press, because the progressives...
