Wont say the 50 isn't a slam dunk choice, but at only 300 yards a 338 lapua would do fine.

1.) Savage LRPR 260. she is a sweet piece with a hawke 30 mill tube scope 6.5-20 on it. I am shooting 123 grain Amax hornaday's out of it @ 2933FPS...

finished load development!!! H4350 and 53.7 grains is the most I could shoot that didn't give me pressure. shooting 2955fps with a 175 Berger XLD and this may be the best shooting gun I have ever...

thanks all. I can't wait to get this out to 1000 and further the 7mm bullet 175 grains at almost 3000fps with a B.C. of .658 should be a real performer!!!

Ok I have to admit I have a serious problem with savages!!! Newst toy is a savage f-class (highly modified :eek:). A little bit of stock work as you can see and the action has been timmed and trued....

while CZ does make a fine rifle for out of the box use there action is not nearly as good as the savage "target action" and with the 100% lug engaugement I feel the savage is better. Also savages...

They are really nice guns. The quality is absolutely second to NONE! shooting them they are crisp and clean and pretty unbelievable!

Lack of good brass does hurt, but I have a friend who doesn't reload and he loves banging away with his 300RUM so getting the brass shouldn't be a problem. The Lapua isn't an option for this build as...

Yep. My 6.5X284 is my 1000 monster. I figure the 338 with a 300 grain Berger hybrid with a B.C of. 94 should make 2000. I am gonna make this my long range hunter I have the stock and action so far.

I think you took a beating in a way. the ammo 170 rounds is all that made it close. 7mm-08 ammo is usually $25-35 a box so that helped but that gun on my shelf is a $599 gun at best and used 500's at...

I ended up staying with a 6.5X284 but when the throat burns out which we all know it is gonna do eventually I will probably go to the 47 lapua unless the 284 performs so well I can't leave it.
