Thank you for the input. When I say "soft", it is like there is a coating over the finish that is softer, like the consistency of hard wax almost, if that makes sense.

Also, those rifles are prone to fouling. Make sure the the inside of the reciever is clean, including the are where the bolt locks up. It sounds as though it is short cycling, or not locking up. Pay...

Rifle Stock Finish "rejuvination"

I have a Sako Rifle that has what appears to be a couple of "soft" areas in the finish. Under the fore end, and on the Montecarlo. Is there a way to clean this area? It was suggested to me to buff it...

Thank you guys for the input. As far as a shooter, the rifle is a drill, even with that little tiny scope. I will post some pics once i fugure out how.
