I'm planning on useing 170gr spfn rem.bullet for the 3030. for the thickits

for 3006 I'm thinking HORNADY SST 165gr. or the A-MAX 168gr.
for deer hunting.

need some help on powder selection?...

now i seated another dumby round with 1/16 of the bearing surface sticking out.
the OAL. is:1.187
crimped to .469 NICE AND TIGHT!

dropped it the barrel! now...

I can voage for the optima but the kodiak is a lot lighter.both of them are brake open's optima at 8-1/4 lb.s kodiak at 7-1/2 lb.s

my self I have the optima mag. the big diffrence between the two is the barrel.
the optima pro come's with a 29" fluted barrel and the optima mag come's ...

ok I check the case in the barrel and it's below the hood. case L. .890.
I measured the depth from the hood to the bottom were the case stop.
it's at .916.not sure what it's called the case...

bought the (blued) optima 209 mag last year.shot 300 round's out of it.very pleased with this inline.very accurate!AVG. 2.25 at 150 yard's.10! 3 shot group's after neroed in. with hornady...

And the lyman book i bought was the 48th edition.Not the 47th edition

I have a 1858 new army made by pettia.no problems! I shoot 25 gr. T-7,With 150 gr. round balls.20 gr. trip..7,with 158 gr. bufflo ballets. easy on the hand's compared to
