It was originally assembled and shipped In March of 1910 as a 22 Short, 24" octagon barrel. The records do show that it R&R'd on 12/2/1918, but there is no mention made of what what done to it.

Your Model 1895 is a Sporting Rifle, and it is chambered for the 30-03 Springfield cartridge. The serial number located on the lower tang will tell us exactly when it was manufactured....

Winchester never made a Model 1894 in 32-20 (a.k.a. 32 W.C.F.). The Model 1873 and the Model 1892 were both made in 32-20. The Model 1894 was made in 32-40 and 32 W.S.

Your grandfather's rifle may have been a Model 60. It was the predecessor to the Model 67/67A. The Model 62A was a pump action repeater, and was a modersized version of the Model 1890.
