Re: Remington 770 Bolt Action too tight!

Okay, I see what you mean. I remember bring the 770 home. I just took it out of the box & put it in one of my cabinets. Since my Enfield is almost slick enough you can use one finger to work it & the...

Remington 770 Bolt Action too tight!

I've read a lot about this online pertaining to a Remington 770 Bolt Action Rifle.

I purchased one in July 2012. Although I haven't fired it yet I've noticed that out of all the Bolt Action...

Re: Old Break-Away 6 shot 38cal. pistol

Jim, I see you said that you had one. I also read that tankers complained about it because of what you mentioned. Did you get a good price for yours? I mean I don't know the condition but once I oil...

Re: Old Break-Away 6 shot 38cal. pistol

One thing I see is that some of the markings are hand stamped where like the Enfield, Crown are not stamped as deep. Correct me if I'm wrong.... This could be why the Enfield & Crown are not there...

Re: Old Break-Away 6 shot 38cal. pistol

I got ya, I looked at it under a large magnifying glass that I use for notebooks when I'm checking for serial numbers & I find nothing. I know that on the right side just next to the grip it should...

Re: Old Break-Away 6 shot 38cal. pistol

Yeah me too & it's mine-lol. But there is a couple things I did notice about it, the grips & spur missing from the hammer suggests to me it may have been modified by Enfield but I'll let the pro's...

Re: Old Break-Away 6 shot 38cal. pistol

I like the patina. Like no one ever took to much care of it but the inside of the barrel is perfect. I do need to replace the grips because one is damaged [other side].

Re: Old Break-Away 6 shot 38cal. pistol

Well owning an Enfield Rifle, I should have known that the crown on the side would or should have pointed me to Enfield. With the Hammer Spur gone it was either modified to fit the Tank Corps because...

Re: Old Break-Away 6 shot 38cal. pistol

I'll get the best picture of it & post it this week. Thanks for the info on maybe an Enfield. Since there is a "Crown" on the side I wondered if it was British made.

Old Break-Away 6 shot 38cal. pistol

Hi there everyone, I just got an old revolver, 38cal break-away 6 shot. I can't find any manufacturers name on it but I'll put the markings on it.
**Top of the Barrel: "CAL-38", with some...

Re: Old Iver Johnson shotgun

Okay, after reading the post from Bill, I noticed that he says that the name was changed to Champion Single barrel in 1917 so with matching serial numbers I'm confused. The barrel shows Champion [no...

Re: Old Iver Johnson shotgun

Well, I was on a few forums & that was what I came up with. I didn't go to the I.J. site that Bill had listed. If I did I'd probably have the answers. I read somewhere where a guy had a shotgun with...

Thumbs up Re: Iver Johnson Champion 16 Ga.

OK Bill, I guess I've been off as far as age of my Champion.
From what your saying about the Champion Model 36, it seems that mine fits that time frame. All the serial numbers with the exception of...

Re: Old Iver Johnson shotgun

My first posting on the forum. My Iver Johnson Champion [20 gauge I think] seems to be from the mid 1930's to late 1930's. The S/N:99476 D. Here is how I got the date [which is a wild guess but...
