Lots of people use walnut for real dirty brass as it is more abrasive than corncob. Corncob gives the brass a nice shine.

GD, this is the one tracer round I kept. I stuck it on the polish wheel and shined it up. Headstamp is 1944. The M1's I kept are in the tumbler.(corncob)

If the freebie works for you, all is golden. However... if you want to do serioius work, GOOD tools are worth their weight in bullets or other valued metals. JMHO.

I thought my Bushmaster was an AR-10 but it is a LR 308. I heard somewhere that they were not the same but I dont know the differencs. This will be an interesting thread. Hope to learn something.
