Re: What size gun do you carry?

My carry gun is a Kimber Stainless Ultra TLE (3 inch barrel). I like its light weight when compared with full sized 1911s. It has an aluminum frame and weighs only 25 ozs. unloaded.

Re: Now is the Kimber of Our Discontent

Kimber customer service is first rate in my experience. The extractor on my Ultra TLE needed replacement and I wanted the sights adjusted. I sent it in under warranty and they paid shipping both...

Re: Kimber Night Sights

You can send your Kimber into Kimber for installation of night sights. Just send them the slide. The turn around time is about 10 days. Cost for sights and labor is about $160.00.

Re: Kimber Custom II questions

The instructions that come with your gun will tell you that Kimber recommends a break in period of 500 rounds of 230 gr. FMJ. This probably isn't needed although Kimbers are fitted up pretty tight...

Re: Spring Weights ( heavy or light )

I'd stick with the standard 16 lbs for a regular 5 inch 1911 unless there's some special reason to go to 18 lbs such as shooting +P ammo or heavy reloads.

Re: 4'' vs 3" barrel Kimbers

If you're looking for a carry gun get the 25 oz. 3 inch Ultra with aluminum frame. The recoil is right up there but you can still hit with it at 7 yards and under if you have any experience...
