I have handled and shot the M&P 45 in compact version. I don't know how much this will mean to you, but the shape of the grip makes it feel much smaller than a Glock or Springfield XD...

Have you noticed any signs of pierced primers before? I have seen an AR type rifle that had been piercing primers and had flame eroded the firing pin making it pretty worn and rough.

I have seen a barrel that was cut in half after someone fired a squib and followed it up with additional shots. There were five bullets wedged into the barrel, neatly compressed against each other....
