Re: Help.... flintlock info
Oh, 10-4. :) I thought you owned it. It does have English markings, it's correct for the 1700's, and the patina looks good. :D

I also load small volume and mistakes are slim to none, but when I do have a boo boo, why whack it out when I can let my press do the hard work.

Re: Pulling Bullets
I have one of those kinetic bullet pullers, and I've had it for over a year, and it's still in the package, and never been opened. I use the RCBS collet bullet puller which is much easier to use....

Re: Cops at the Door?
I don't wear a gun when I'm in the house, but I do have them close at hand. I don't expect anyone to come knocking on my door at night, but if they do, I have a gun close, real close.

Sometime within the next few days I plan on going up to Paducah to a couple of gun stores and see what I can get as far as primers and powder goes.

Re: 1858 Remington Army & Navy
I have never had that problem with my Remingtons, and I have 5 of them. As with any cap and ball revolvers, you want to use an oversized ball. With the .44, you want to use either a .451 or a .454...

I think it's more for flash suppression, and they were usually added to the gun. On the Blunderbuss, it was to help with loading and to spread the shot quicker, and it is the barrel which is flared,...
