thanks, i happy with it and im only into it for 60 bucks plus 15 for parts and 8 for the tru oil so like 83 bucks is all. caint wait to get it sighted in, then i just have to wait for gopher season...

i think it basically attacks the steel to start oxidizing it and giving it a patina, which for steel is a very dark blue. correct me if im wrong.

how far down do i need to sand this thing? i cant seem to get all the stain out, and i dont want to go to far. and in some places where the wood was cut across the grain the stain is really deep.

ok so what do you guys think about the Birchwood casey gun refinishing kit? it comes with the stuff to re-blue everything and the tru oil and stain, not bad for like 25 bucks.

oops, i wont do that any more but it does work, i stepped out the back door this morning at around 630 or 7 am and let er rip about 10 or 15 times, i bet my nieghboors love me. started sanding down...

well model 60 stock has been stripped of old F-ed up laquer and new firing pin, buffer and rear sight elevator have been installed. se is all back together and waiting for some daylight so i can run...

good info, you can definaltley tell they came from different homes. one was spotless inside with NO oil at all,, the other was absolutley disgusting, tons and tons of oil and ground up firing pin and...
